OPDI: CiDE Course Requirements

OPDI Students pursuing a Certificate in Dance Education (CiD), will be required to complete specific courses amounting to 33 units within a period of 5 years. The 33 units are broken into 15 units of Core Curriculum (4 3-unit courses and a final project), 6 units of Flex-Core Curriculum (2 3-unit courses) and 12 additional units to be chosen from a variety of Electives or additional Flex-Core courses.

Students can take up to 3 OPDI courses before declaring their intention to pursue the full CiDE program. While the CiDE does not include technique or in-studio based dance courses,  some courses may require a studio or laboratory component to be accomplished by attending special OPDI sessions during the NDEO national conference, by attending other dance training programs, or by interning with an NDEO Institutional Member.

*Please note that the CiDE is a new program, and courses and requirements may be subject to change as we develop the program.
